Temporary Resident Permit (TRP)
Individuals who are inadmissible to Canada can apply for a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP)
to overcome their inadmissibility and be allowed entry into Canada on a temporary basis.
A Temporary Resident Permint application can be submitted at any point in time. Unlike other inadmissibility related applications, like criminal-rehabilitation,
a TRP application is not subject to any restrictions.
A TRP is issued for the length of stay in Canada, up to 3 years, and can be extended from inside Canada. A TRP is not valid for multiple entries to Canada unless
re-entery is authorized at the time of issuance. A TRP can be revoked at any time.
In general, a TRP can be used as a short term solutions towards obtaining PR, etc.
A TRP application needs to contain valid reasons for entering Canada.
